WORKPLACE CONSULTANT (SALES)
Reports to: Vice President of Sales
Basic Function: The Workplace Consultant plays a pivotal role in developing new business opportunities by leveraging various sales strategies such as prospecting, networking, and cold calling, while also nurturing existing client relationships. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire order process, collaborating closely with the Credit Department to ensure prompt payment collection, and providing guidance to Sales Coordinators in coordination with the Director of Order Fulfillment. The successful candidate will consistently surpass sales volume and profit targets.
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactive Prospecting: Identify potential prospects and clients through referrals, networking events, professional associations, industry publications, websites, and more
- In-depth Research: Conduct comprehensive research to understand prospects’ products, industries, structures, and potential as future clients; use this information to qualify leads and create effective call or first contact strategies and sales plans
- Effective Communication: Execute call or first contact strategies, build rapport with prospects, and schedule consultative meetings and presentations to secure future business opportunities
- Customized Sales Presentations: Develop, administer, and adapt sales presentations in alignment with the prepared sales plan
- Quotation Preparation: Prepare quotations and RFPs for client review, including budgeting, pricing, profit margin determination, and internal resource alignment
- Seamless Order Processing: Forward approved client quotes to Sales Administration for order entry and maintenance
- Installation Coordination: Ensure smooth installations by preparing instructions, monitoring preparation plans, and coordinating with various internal departments
- Credit and Collections: Comply with company credit and collections policies, assisting customers with credit applications, securing deposits, and resolving payment obstacles
- Delinquent Funds Collection: Act as a liaison between customers and Credit and Collections to resolve price discrepancies, damage claims, and authorization issues
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends and products by attending educational workshops and maintaining professional networks
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products, new developments, and delivery schedules; provide recommendations for product and service improvements to the Sales Manager
- Team Collaboration: Contribute to team goals and success by providing support as needed
- Client Servicing: Maintain and expand relationships with existing accounts through continuous needs analysis and follow-up
- Special Projects: Undertake special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
- Understanding of Hedberg or completion of Hedberg training
- Strong oral, presentation, written, and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed with a proactive approach and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening skills

Level of Education/Training/License:
- BA/BS degree preferred
Experience:
- Three or more years of sales experience with measurable success, preferably in a business-to-business context
